Whether a member chooses to serve as a chapter officer, or represent AOII as a member of other campus or community organizations, there are numerous opportunities to develop leadership skills as a member of AOII.

Commitment to
Scholarship

AOII encourages all members to excel academically and has many programs designed to assist women in achieving their academic goals. Expectations are high but the support provided by scholarship programs, academic development officer resources, and fellow members makes success attainable.

Letter from the President

I joined Alpha Omicron Pi during the fall of my junior year at the University of Connecticut. Needless to say, it has been one of the best decisions that I have ever made during my college career. AOII was in the colonization process when I became a member and through this development, I was able to help the organization blossom into a fully active Panhellenic chapter on UCONN's campus. As challenging as the colonizing process was at times, I wouldn't give this experience up for anything. Alpha Omicron Pi is not only sisterhood, it is a way of life. I have been able to gain leadership experience, a larger understanding of all Greek councils on campus, volunteer opportunities, and relationships amongst our many wonderful alumnae, Educational Leadership Consultants, and our chapter's advisors.

Being an only child, I was able to gain so many wonderful sisters overnight. These women are there for me and one another at anytime, anywhere. Whether it is a shoulder to cry on or someone to swipe you into the dining hall when there isn't enough time to return to your apartment, these sisters would do anything for one and all. I am so humbled to have been able to watch so many of the women I call my sisters, grow into strong, dedicated, passionate leaders for the organization and the community.

I speak on behalf of the sisters of the Lambda Lambda chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi at UCONN, and we thank you for taking time to visit our website and we hope we can provide insight as to why we have chosen to become sisters of AOII for life.
